We ARE what we think. It’s CRITICAL that we choose power thoughts.

 > > > What are you thinking right now?

Research shows that more than 70 percent of our daily thoughts are NEGATIVE, LIMITING, and UNKIND. So we MUST develop the habit of mindfulness — actively monitoring our thoughts — or we could be influenced by a whole lot of junk.

DO YOUR THOUGHTS TEND TO EMPOWER YOU, OR MAKE YOU SMALL?

> Are you hearing that you CAN … or that you CAN’T? That you’re WEAK … or that you’re up for taking RISKS because you’re not stalled by fears about the outcome?

> Is your mental soundtrack shouting, “GAME ON!” OR “SKIP THIS CHANCE!”? The record playing in your mind greatly influences whether you hold a limited mindset or a growth mindset.



The boxer Muhammad Ali was a master of telling his mind what to think. Look at this power talk:

“I’ve wrestled with alligators. I’ve tussled with a whale. I done handcuffed lightning. And throw thunder in jail.”



WAHOO!! Ali’s concrete language ignites my delight and my “What CAN I do?!” attitude.

My brain KNOWS from life experience that I can’t actually handcuff lightning or throw thunder in jail. But it is willing to ponder what BIG actions I CAN take when I DARE to think GREATLY.

I remind my clients that THE KID IN YOU STILL BELIEVES you are a Superhero. You MUST keep telling your mind that you are so much MORE (creative, generous, powerful, resilient, capable, etc.) than you might actually believe that you are.

The truth: Your mind is simply echoing what you’ve told it. It’s easy to convince, so KEEP UP the power talk!

A GROWTH MINDSET doesn’t hunker down in “stinkin’ thinkin’.” It keeps choosing “I CAN.” Failure is not final; it’s just a lesson. It’s as we keeping getting back up, that we see how far we’ve come from when we started.

CHOOSE POWER THOUGHTS, WORDS, AND ACTIONS. They largely determine how your life will play out. Day by day, every thought matters!
